简论木对人类文明之贡献

报告摘要:
  人类文明由何而来,往何处去?这既是一个严肃的哲学命题,又是值得每一个地球人关注和思考的社会问题。本文首先就史前人类木器时代的存在性展开了论证,然后综述分析了木对人类自然科学和人文科学形成发展的作用和贡献,最后从“木”的角度讨论了当前人类面临的粮食、能源和环境三大问题。从人类发展进程、工具产生条件和相关历史证据来看,史前人类木器时代是客观存在的,在进入石器时代以前,人类经历了一个漫长的木器时代。木与人类相伴的历史最为久远,人们与木相关的实践活动最为普遍和广泛,木对人类自然科学和人文科学的形成发展做出了无与伦比的贡献。借鉴人类过去的历史,“木”之道可望成为解决当前人类面临的粮食、能源和环境三大危机的重要途径。

Abstract: Where is human civilization from and going to? This is both a serious philosophical proposition and a social issue for every person on the earth to pay attention to. In the present paper, the existence of the prehistoric “wood age” was discussed firstly, then contributions of wood on Natural Science and Humane Studies were comprehensively analyzed, and finally, the three global problems of food, energy and environment facing to the mankind were discussed at the angle of “wood”. Based on the mankind developing process, the tool formation conditions and the historical evidences concerned, it is concluded that the existence of the prehistoric “wood age” is an objective fact, and mankind had experienced a very long “wood age” before entered into the stone age. Wood has been companying our human beings the longest time, and accordingly, activities of human beings concerned with wood should be most widespread, and wood has greatly contributed incomparably to the formation and development of Natural Science and Humane Studies. Drawing lessons from the past history, wood science and technology could be expected to be possible ways to solve the present food, energy and environment crises.

嘉宾简介:
  罗建举,广西大学教授,“木材学”国家精品课程负责人,兼任教育部林业工程类专业教学指导委员会副主任委员。1999年博士毕业于中国林业科学研究院木材工业研究所,获工学博士;先后留学芬兰赫尔辛基工业大学和美国俄勒冈州立大学。1982年至今,在木材科学与技术领域从事教学与研究三十多年,取得了一系列的教学与科研成果,出版了《木材美学引论》、《木材宏观构造美学》和《木与人类文明》等研究专著,荣获全国模范教师和广西高校教学名师等荣誉称号。

Mr. Luo Jianju, professor and dean of College of Forestry, Guangxi University; head of the National Excellent Course- "Wood Science"; Vice Director of Forestry Engineering Professional Teaching Instruction Committee, National Ministry of Education. Mr. Luo got Ph.D. from the Research Institute of Wood Industry, China Academy of Forestry on 1999, and studied at Helsinki University of Technology, Finland and Oregon State University, United States. He has engaged in the field of wood science and technology for more than 30 years since 1982, and got a series of achievement on both teaching and research. He published "Timber Aesthetics Introduction", "Aesthetics of Wood Macrostructure", "Wood and Human Civilization "and other research monographs. He has awarded the titles of “National Model Teacher” and “Renowned Teacher of Guangxi colleges and Universities”.
